The unique feature of the QE Staffing and Scheduling methodology is the synergistic creation of three-member staff teams who are grouped together as partners and given permanent ongoing schedules. Two team members work every day, and all three team members spend an equal amount of time working together during the schedule period. In hospitals and long term care facilities, especially nursing homes, there is a staffing crisis and this crisis is not resolved by simply increasing the nurse to patient ratios. Solutions that focus on how well nurses are organized and scheduled to deliver care are better for quality patient care and cost effectiveness.
